Dorothea Lange

Dorothea Lange was born May 26, 1895 in Hoboken, New Jersey and died on October 11, 1965 in San Francisco, California. Lange was a Photographer and Photojournalist during the Depression-Era. She would go out with her camera and take pictures of the harsh situations the poor was going through because of the economic depression. When Dorothea was 7 years old she got Polio, This affected her right leg and left her with a limp." It was the most important thing that happened to me, and formed me, guided me, instructed me, helped me and humiliated me."-Dorothea Lange
Lange worked for the Farm Security Administration(FSA), her job was to investigate the living conditions of the poor. Her father left them when she was twelve years old and she never saw him again, this made her remove her dads last name and keep her mothers.
